Chore Wheel

Every shared house has the same argument, and it is never really about the dishes. A wheel settles it without anyone having to be the one who decided: spin, read the result, it is done.

Chores or people — pick a side

Put the chores on the wheel and spin once per person, or put the housemates on it and spin once per chore. The second version is better when one job is far worse than the others, because everybody watches that particular spin.

Make it weekly

Add a "day off" slice so there is something to hope for, and remove each chore once it is assigned so the wheel shares out the whole list. Keep the wheel saved and re-spin it every Sunday — the routine is what stops the argument coming back.
