# Privacy policy

Last updated: 8 August 2026. This policy covers both the website at wheelr.xyz and
the Wheelr Android app. Contact for any privacy or deletion request:
annyone.any@gmail.com.

## The short version

- You can use Wheelr without an account. If you do, your wheels stay on your device and are never sent to us.
- If you sign in, your wheels are synced to our cloud so you can reach them from other devices.
- The Android app shows ads through Google AdMob, which collects advertising data.
- We do not sell your data and we do not build advertising profiles ourselves.

## What is collected

**If you never sign in:** nothing is sent to us. Wheels, names, colours, images and
sounds live only in the browser's local storage and IndexedDB, or in the app's local
storage. Deleting the app or clearing site data erases them permanently.

**If you create an account or sign in:** we process your email address and, with
Google Sign-In, the basic profile information Google releases. Authentication is
handled by Firebase Authentication; we never see or store your password. The content
of the wheels you sync — entries, palettes, images, sounds and settings — is stored
in Google Cloud Firestore under an identifier tied to your account.

**In the Android app:** Google AdMob collects data to serve and measure ads,
including the device advertising ID, device and network information, and ad
interactions. AdMob acts as an independent controller for this.

**On the website only:** Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights count page views
and measure loading performance. They are aggregate, cookie-less and do not identify
you, and they are disabled entirely inside the Android app.

## Shared wheels are public

A shared wheel is readable by anyone with the link or its ID, with no account. That
is the point of the feature, but it means anything on a shared wheel — including
people's names — stops being private. Sharing can be stopped at any time by deleting
the wheel from your account.

## Legal basis (GDPR)

- Art. 6(1)(b) — performing the service you asked for: your account and wheel syncing.
- Art. 6(1)(a) — consent: personalized advertising, asked on first launch and changeable later.
- Art. 6(1)(f) — legitimate interest: aggregate website measurement and keeping the service secure.

## Advertising

Ads appear in two places in the app: an optional video you choose to watch to unlock
a ready-made wheel, and an occasional full-screen ad between spins. In regions that
require it, Google's consent form asks about personalized ads on first launch;
declining still shows ads, but non-personalized ones.

## Retention and your rights

Synced wheels are kept until you delete them or delete your account. If you are in
the EU/EEA or the UK you can ask to access, correct, export or delete your personal
data, object to processing, or withdraw consent — write to annyone.any@gmail.com and
we respond within 30 days. You may also complain to your national data protection
authority.

## Deleting your data

Delete an individual wheel in the app to remove it from the cloud. To delete
everything, open the account panel (person icon in the header) and choose *Delete
account*: after confirming your identity, the account and every synced wheel —
including shared ones, whose links stop working — are erased immediately and
permanently. Wheels saved only on the device are unaffected. Deletion can also be
requested by writing from the account's email address to annyone.any@gmail.com.

## Children

Wheelr is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 where local law sets that
age) and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.

Wheelr is and will remain free to use. There is no paid tier and no feature is held
